Storytelling workshop: listen to your experiences on Tuesday, 13th August, 6:30 pm

Broadgate Speakers, the friendliest Toastmasters club in London, is hosting a Storytelling workshop!

The meeting will start with prepared speeches by two of the club’s members, and will continue with the workshop in the second part of the evening. The workshop will be led by the club’s member, Alan Thomas, and will aim to show how writing and telling stories can be much more effective if we draw on our own lifetime listening experiences.

Alan will encourage active participation and interaction, so be prepared for one hour of true experiential learning.

About Alan Thomas

Alan’s formal secondary education in London came to a sudden end days before it was due to start! It was September 1939, World War 2 had begun. Years later, he gained an MA in Education (Queens) and an MA in Counselling and Guidance (Reading). He holds several Speech and Recital Diplomas recognised by the EU and UK as Master’s level. Alan studied storytelling at New York University and the Irish Cultural Centre, London. During a long career, Alan worked as practitioner, lecturer, examiner, and writer in thesaurus construction. He wrote, edited, reviewed, and summarised numerous articles, papers, books, and presentations. He enjoyed working as Associate Professor in Thesaurus Construction for many years.

Don’t miss a unique opportunity to learn from one of London’s most experienced storytellers!
